Are you lonely, or are you alone?
What is the difference in being lonely and being alone? Being lonely is an external experience. We can change our surroundings to correct this problem. How do we do it? By being busy, by adding as many relationships, goals, or gathering of possesions to our life as possible. Yet the problem with all the activity and such is that a person can still be alone even though they've fixed their state of being lonely. Is it possible that in addition to the wealth, greed, and the gathering of 'things' in life we also may be too busy and too distracted by religious activity which looks great to others, yet at the end of the day we are still alone? Some have said that being alone is being separated from the POWER the PRESENCE and the PLEASURE of God. As this metamorphasis takes place with our small group, will we be careful no to substitute holiness for religious activity to wash away our state of being lonely? Will you desire His Presence, His Power, and His Pleasure over being 'religiously busy'? Mary? Martha?
